This week didn’t go so well for me, to be honest. I was on the road from Sunday through Tuesday. Even though I brought everything I needed–the DVDs, tubing, workout apparel, etc.–I only did Day 1: Chest/Back & Ab Ripper X. I was staying in a small room where there was a TV/DVD player, and there was definitely enough room to do Day 1 and Day 3 (Shoulders/Arms & Ab Ripper X), but not enough to do Plyometrics. So I had a back-up plan to run outdoors Monday morning.
Monday morning came, and it was pouring in P-town. It’s interesting how once one day doesn’t happen, it becomes too easy to dog it on the other days, too. I had plenty of room to do Shoulders & Arms on Tuesday, but that didn’t happen, either. And the rest of the week was a wash.
The P90x guide says you extend one phase by as much as a week, but no more than that. I’ll be taking the optional extra week pass for the next seven days.
You can definitely be committed to the P90x program on the road by planning ahead. But if that fails, learn how to prevent the setback next time, and pick back up where you left off.
