Delhi will see its first Obstacle Race on 10th March 2013. The run promises to be a litmus test for strength – physical and mental. The organisers say, “We will make you scorch and sweat and push yourself, and you might just discover reserves of toughness you never knew.”
The race, which is open to anyone above 16 years of age, would be a 4km one covering over 20 obstacles that the participants will have to tackle.
Unlike the mud filled courses traditional Warrior Dash usually offers, Urban Warrior Dash took runners all through beautiful downtown San Diego, California. Although runners were not jumping fire or crawling through mud, they were faced with some particularly daunting obstacles. And there could not have been a better backdrop for this inaugural event than sunny Southern California.
University ROTC cadets hosted their first annual Frosty 5K obstacle race on Friday to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, a national charity benefitting wounded veterans.
Participants followed a one-loop course at the Arboretum enhanced with military-inspired obstacles. Runners hauled bags of sands, carried PVC pipes filled with sand carried “death sticks” and crawled on their stomachs through the snow.
The race included a women’s and men’s 5K.
The Michigan-based sports and workout supplement company, Proven4, is thrilled to announce their new partnership with the world’s largest obstacle race series, Warrior Dash.
Proven4 will be in attendance at the San Diego Urban Warrior Dash on March 2nd, and the Texas Iron Warrior Dash on March 16th.
Proven4 is excited to be providing free pre and post workout drinks to all Warrior Dash participants at these events, as well as a free photo booth and a chance to win a year’s worth of Proven4 supplements.
“We are thrilled to be able share the Proven4 brand with all of the Warrior Dash participants. We are excited to be a part of this amazing test of endurance and strength”, said Shelley Winslow, co-founder of Proven4.
Participants will have a chance to run a time trial inside Citizens Bank Park through the elaborate course that was created using both existing stadium structures and specially designed obstacles.
And the kids don’t have to be left out: There’s also Jr. Spartan and Varsity Spartan races, geared towards kids ages 4-13.
The Spartan Race hits Philadelphia on Aug. 31, so start training now.
Perhaps the name of the obstacle should have been warning enough. Three participants in Poulsbo’s “Extreme K Mud Run” are suing over injuries suffered at the bottom of a slippery slide known as “Gravity’s Revenge.”
Their attorney describes the obstacle as a muddy, two-story chute, similar to a slippery slide.
